The lodge we were sleeping in was completely open. You were able to just walk in, make yourself at home, fire up the oven/fireplace (wood was ready) and cook something. Even beverages were available for a not so small few. But completely based on trust. Just a little box saying: please feed me with money. And it works. We cleaned up the place, chopped new wood and left like we would have liked to find it. I wonder why this is not working in the “civilized” world of the valley? Maybe because up there you really depend on the lodge? I don’t know. People are strange.
